Briefs are the product

Average content comes from average instructions. Our briefs are engineered documents: primary and secondary keywords, competitor URLs, required sub-topics and entities, search-intent classification, E-E-A-T requirements, and internal-link targets, everything a writer needs to produce a page that outranks.

Topical coverage, not word count, not keyword density, is what modern ranking systems reward. Briefs specify the full entity and question space a page must cover, which is also precisely what makes content quotable by AI systems.

Word targets come from evidence: we count the words on the top ten ranking URLs and set the target above their average, then break the outline into per-section mini-briefs, the points competitors cover, the angles they missed, reference links, and a word count per section that sums to the page target. The writer's questions get answered inside the brief, so drafts arrive right the first time.

  • Persona research shapes every brief
  • SME-written, editorially controlled
  • Built for Google rankings and AI citations

The content operations stack

Epic Content: long-form authority pieces engineered to rank for 1,000+ keywords from a single page.

Content Layering: we audit dead-weight pages against 50+ data points, then prune, merge, or rebuild, recovering rankings sites didn't know they'd lost.

Freshness operations: cited sources in AI answers skew overwhelmingly to recently-updated pages, so update cadence is built into every calendar we run.

SME production: writers and reviewers with genuine industry expertise across 20+ verticals, with editorial control that keeps voice, accuracy, and claims honest.

Relaunch mechanics: cannibalization and internal links

When two pages compete for one keyword, we resolve it with a test rather than a guess. We pull the suspect term's SERP data and count exact-match top keywords: three or more means the topic deserves its own article and stays separate; zero means it merges into the canonical page with a 301. Ninety days of landing-page traffic confirms the call, and two assets both ranking in the top 3 never get consolidated.

Every relaunch ships with 10–15 internal links chosen by authority. We find each page on your site already mentioning the target keyword, sort by URL rating, verify every anchor sits in body copy rather than boilerplate, and log each link placed. High-authority pages that don't yet mention the topic get a new anchor added deliberately.

Relaunched URLs are then tracked before and after on organic traffic, conversions, and conversion rate over matched periods, the honest way to prove a rewrite worked.

Data studies: the passive link engine

One format earns links while you sleep: original data studies built to answer the exact statistical questions journalists search for. We reverse-engineer which data pages in your niche accumulate referring domains slowly and continuously for years, the signature of passive, journalist-driven linking, then mine their anchor text to find the single data point writers keep quoting, and build a focused page answering precisely that question.

The page itself is engineered for citation: a named author with a real bio, a visible last-updated date, a fact-checked note, a cite-this-research button, and the headline numbers bolded up top. It reads like a journal article rather than a promotion, because journalists cite sources that make citing easy.

The economics are the argument. Documented programs of this shape have cut the cost per earned link from around $750 to roughly $154, with links continuing to accrue for months after publication and a single refresh able to multiply an aging study's monthly link rate. These are also exactly the durable citations AI assistants keep quoting.

Data-Driven Content Marketing process

The method behind the numbers.

[ 03.1 · PROCESS ]
C/01

Persona deep-dive

Who buys, what they ask, where they research, mapped before a word is written.

C/02

Master keyword research

The full demand universe structured into a sitemap and 12-month calendar.

C/03

Data-driven briefs

Keywords, entities, intent, competitor gaps, and per-section word counts summing to a target above the top-10 average.

C/04

SME production

In-house producers + subject-matter experts, editorially controlled.

C/05

Epic content & layering

Authority pieces briefed to outcover the top ten combined; dead weight given one of four verdicts and rebuilt.

C/06

Measure & refresh

Publish fast, judge at 30/60 days, reinvest in winners, track every relaunch before and after.

The full methodology

Phase by phase. Deliverable by deliverable.

Content here is an engineering pipeline, not a publishing habit. Personas and demand data shape briefs, briefs constrain writers, and every published page gets judged in Search Console at 30 and 60 days with reinvestment following the winners. The production system runs like this.

[ 03.M · METHOD ]
01

Persona and demand research

Weeks 1–3

What we do

  • Interview stakeholders and mine reviews, communities, and support tickets for buyer language
  • Build the master keyword database and group it into a nav, category, and product matrix
  • Classify intent per term with a modifier-based funnel framework
  • Count words on the top ten URLs per target to set evidence-based length benchmarks

What you get

  • Persona profiles with the questions each one asks at each stage
  • Master keyword document with intent and compete calls
  • A 12-month calendar sequenced by funnel value
Phase exitThe calendar is approved and the first brief batch is queued.
02

Brief engineering

Weeks 2–4, then rolling

What we do

  • Write per-page briefs: keywords, entities, competitor URLs, intent, E-E-A-T requirements
  • Break each outline into per-section mini-briefs with word counts summing to the page target
  • Specify internal link targets and schema opportunities per page
  • Answer writer questions inside the brief so drafts arrive right the first time

What you get

  • Data-driven briefs with sectioned outlines
  • Word targets benchmarked above the top-10 average
  • Internal link plan per asset
Phase exitWriters accept briefs without a clarification round.
03

Production and editorial

Rolling from Week 3

What we do

  • Match each brief to an SME writer with genuine industry background
  • Fact-check claims, strip invented examples, and verify every statistic against its source
  • Add extractable structure: direct-answer openings, question-led H2s, FAQs with sources
  • Publish with clean formatting, 3–5 internal links, and restrained schema

What you get

  • Published pages meeting brief and editorial standards
  • Per-page FAQ and schema blocks shipped with the content
  • An editorial log of what changed between draft and live
Phase exitThe first cohort is live and logged with publish dates.
04

Layering and relaunch

Months 2–4

What we do

  • Audit existing content on 50+ data points and assign keep, improve, consolidate, or remove
  • Relaunch pages stuck at positions 5–15 toward the top 5 inside 60–90 days
  • Resolve cannibalizing pairs with the exact-match top-keyword test and 301 the losers
  • Place 10–15 authority-sorted internal links per relaunch

What you get

  • Content audit with a verdict on every URL
  • Relaunch cohort with before and after tracking
  • Consolidation log with redirects mapped
Phase exitEvery relaunched URL has matched-period tracking in place.
05

Data studies and refresh

Month 3 onward

What we do

  • Reverse-engineer which data pages in the niche earn links passively for years
  • Build focused studies answering the one statistical question journalists keep quoting
  • Add citation affordances: named author bio, dated updates, a fact-checked note
  • Refresh aging winners on the cadence freshness data demands

What you get

  • Original data assets built for citation
  • Refresh queue ranked by decay and link value
  • Monthly report on links and citations earned per asset
Phase exitThe first study earns links without outreach.

[ 03.3 · FAQ ]
What makes content 'data-driven'?

Every piece starts from measured demand: keyword and intent data, competitor content analysis, entity coverage requirements, and persona research. The brief encodes the data; the writer adds expertise; the result is engineered to rank rather than hoping to.

Do you use AI to write content?

We use AI across research, brief generation, and optimization, and human subject-matter experts for substance, judgment, and voice. Every piece passes editorial control for accuracy and originality. What we never ship is unreviewed generic AI output.

What is content layering?

Our process for existing content: audit every page against 50+ data points, identify dead weight, then prune, merge, or rebuild strategically. Sites usually gain more from fixing what exists than from publishing more.

How does content help AI search visibility?

AI systems cite fresh, information-dense, well-structured pages, most cited pages run 350–2,000 words with clear structure. Our briefs build in extractable answers, statistics, and full entity coverage, making pages as quotable to ChatGPT as they are rankable on Google.
