Service 20 · Build

WordPress at engineering grade.

WordPress runs a huge share of the web, which means most WordPress work is theme-flipping. Ours isn't. For 15+ years we've built WordPress as software: custom themes from scratch, plugins engineered to spec, WooCommerce commerce, and migrations that treat your rankings as inventory.

Custom WordPress, treated as software

A WordPress build here runs like any engineering project: version control, staging, code review, and performance budgets. Custom themes get built from scratch around your design system, so you ship exactly the markup you need instead of a purchased theme's accumulated weight.

Corporate sites get built for the three things that matter: security, speed, and conversion. Semantic markup, server-rendered content, and restrained schema come standard, because we're a search company at heart and the site has to earn traffic, then convert it.

Eight disciplines run under one roof: custom WordPress development, theme development, WordPress CMS configuration, plugin development, WooCommerce ecommerce, third-party integration, migration and upgrades, and ongoing support.

  • Custom themes built from scratch, no bloat
  • Plugin & WooCommerce engineering
  • Migrations and upgrades that keep rankings

Plugins and integrations, engineered to spec

When the plugin directory doesn't hold the answer, we build it: custom plugins with proper hooks, update-safe structure, and documentation, so functionality survives every core update instead of pinning you to an old version.

Third-party integration connects WordPress to the stack around it: marketing automation, payment gateways, and CRM systems, including the HubSpot and WooCommerce pairing we implement as its own practice. Data flows both ways and gets verified, so the site works as a system, never an island.

WooCommerce, with commerce discipline

WooCommerce builds inherit our ecommerce engineering method: catalog architecture, a checkout that doesn't leak revenue, server-rendered product facts, and structured data applied at template level. The store stays fast under load and readable by every crawler, AI assistants included.

Migrations, upgrades, and support

Replatforming onto WordPress, or upgrading a build that's years behind, runs on a URL-complete migration spec: full inventory, one-to-one redirect map, single-hop 301s, and rankings counted before and after. Traffic you've earned doesn't get donated to a relaunch.

Support and maintenance keep the platform current: core and plugin updates applied on a schedule, security hardening, backups with tested restores, and a measured eye on Core Web Vitals as content grows.

The practice carries industry playbooks for healthcare, fintech, edtech, travel and hospitality, real estate, and logistics and automotive, sectors where compliance, integrations, and content structure differ enough to matter.

WordPress Development process

The method behind the numbers.

[ 20.1 · PROCESS ]
WP/01

Consultation & scope

Requirements, current-site audit, and a scope of work with owners and dates.

WP/02

Design & prototyping

Wireframes and design applied to your brand, approved before code.

WP/03

Development & integration

Custom theme and plugin build under version control, integrations wired both ways.

WP/04

Testing & QA

Functional, performance, and security passes across devices before launch.

WP/05

Deployment & training

SEO-safe cutover, then editor training so your team publishes without us.

Maintenance & support

Updates, hardening, backups, and iteration on a schedule.

The full methodology

Phase by phase. Deliverable by deliverable.

WordPress earns its reputation for mess one shortcut at a time, so the method removes the shortcuts: custom code under version control, staging before production, a URL-complete migration spec, and updates on a schedule instead of a prayer. Phase by phase, here is how a build runs.

[ 20.M · METHOD ]
01

Consultation and scope

Weeks 1–2

What we do

  • Audit the current site: theme quality, plugin inventory, update debt, security posture
  • Inventory every URL with its traffic, links, and conversions
  • Gather requirements from the teams who will publish and maintain
  • Write the scope of work with owners and dates

What you get

  • Current-state audit
  • URL inventory with equity flags
  • Signed scope of work
Phase exitScope and success measures are signed.
02

Design and prototyping

Weeks 2–4

What we do

  • Wireframe priority templates around one job per page
  • Apply your design system with performance budgets attached
  • Plan the editor experience: blocks, fields, and reusable sections
  • Specify server-rendered content per template

What you get

  • Wireframes and design per template
  • Performance budget per template
  • Editorial experience spec
Phase exitDesigns are approved against the budgets, and editors know their tools.
03

Development and integration

Weeks 4–9

What we do

  • Build the custom theme under version control with staging from day one
  • Engineer plugins where the directory falls short
  • Wire integrations: marketing automation, payment gateways, CRM
  • Implement restrained schema and semantic markup template by template

What you get

  • Working build on staging
  • Integration test log with two-way data verified
  • Schema validating on priority templates
Phase exitStaging passes review with JavaScript disabled.
04

QA and hardening

Weeks 8–10

What we do

  • Run functional QA across devices and browsers
  • Test Core Web Vitals against budget and fix what misses
  • Harden security: login, permissions, backups with tested restores
  • Execute the redirect map and verify every hop, when migrating

What you get

  • QA log with sign-offs
  • CWV results per template
  • Launch checklist
Phase exitThe launch checklist has zero open blockers.
05

Launch, training, support

Weeks 10–12 onward

What we do

  • Cut over and watch crawl behavior daily until frequency stabilizes
  • Train editors on publishing without developer help
  • Set the update schedule: core, plugins, and security patches
  • Ship monthly iterations from the improvement backlog

What you get

  • Post-launch verification report
  • Editor training and documentation
  • Maintenance calendar
Phase exitRankings hold and your team publishes without tickets.

[ 20.3 · FAQ ]
Do you build custom themes or customize purchased ones?

Custom, from scratch. A purchased theme carries code for every site it might ever serve; yours only needs the code for your site. Custom builds load faster, hold Core Web Vitals budgets, and stay maintainable because every line has a reason to exist.

Do you develop custom WordPress plugins?

Yes. When the directory doesn't cover your requirement, we engineer plugins with proper hooks and update-safe structure, documented so any developer can maintain them, and built to survive core updates rather than pin you to an old version.

Can you build our store on WooCommerce?

Yes, with the same commerce discipline as our Shopify and Magento work: catalog architecture, checkout optimization, server-rendered product data, and template-level schema. If your catalog or team fits a different platform better, we'll say so.

Can you migrate or upgrade WordPress without losing rankings?

That's the house specialty. Every migration runs a full URL inventory, a one-to-one redirect map with single-hop 301s, and before-and-after rank tracking. Backlinked legacy URLs point at their closest matching pages, so earned equity keeps working.

How do you keep WordPress secure and fast?

Security is a schedule, never a plugin: core and plugin updates applied promptly, hardened login and permissions, and backups with tested restores. Speed is a budget: Core Web Vitals held per template, verified before launch and watched after.

Do you maintain WordPress sites you didn't build?

Yes. Inherited sites start with an audit of theme quality, plugin sprawl, update debt, and security posture, then a stabilization plan. Some earn a rebuild recommendation; most improve in place with disciplined maintenance.
